Rodeo star Ty Murray with Chelsie Hightower (from SYTYCD; interesting);
Apple entrepreneur Steve Wozniak with Karina Smirnoff (ooh, I hope this doesn’t mean Karina’s booted off first);
Country singer Chuck Wicks with Julianne Hough (okay, so people were right about forecasting this; I still don’t think it’s fair, but whatev…);
Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell with Tony Dovolani (hmmmm);
Actor David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson (hmmm, again);
Singer Jewel and Dmitry Chaplin (also from SYTYCD; this pairing should be good).

So interesting that DWTS is using SYTYCD as a source for pros. What do you think about that?
Hi Sandi — it is interesting and I'm not sure what to think of it. On the one hand, I'm glad there are these opportunities for the dancers, but, on the other, I wonder if other pro dancers applied and they just took the ones from SYTYCD because they were already famous; if they're trying to up the show's ratings by using dancers from the other show. I know a lot of pro ballroom dancers have no desire to go on these shows; they still want the glory of becoming the top dancers in the world by competing. And you're not going to be in the running at Blackpool or the other big competitions if you take time away from training to go on TV. But I do wonder how it came about that the SYTYCD dancers are now appearing here.
Yeah, it's too hard for me to make any real predictions yet since I know so few of the contestants (I mean, I would have thought Kim Kardashian and Paulina Poritzkova could dance well before I saw them) so I'm waiting until the show premieres. I agree with what you said about Julianne and Chuck though. I think even if people feel it's unfair to put them together, that they like her so much — and he can probably dance a bit because of her — that they'll go far anyway.
They asked Ashly DelGrosso back but she just had another baby 😉
I thought they would have asked Louis back to dance with Shawn or L'il Kim (that would have been interesting).
I'd rather have real pros (as I don't consider many of the dancers on SYTYCD pros) on like Nick Kostovich, Louis, Alec (hell he's on the promo for crying out loud), etc
The only onesI don't know all that well are Lawarence Taylor (I hate football) and David Allen Greir (I know his stuff but not all that way). I think I watch way to much TV LOL
The other thing that bugs me is that people are saying Shawn Johnson has had dance training, just like Kristi (who in retrospect had more than Shawn LOL… she had more pairs experience than anything).
